Business Development Manager

Reports to: Head of School Services

Location: Hybrid - Newmarket (2 days on-site, 2-days WFH)

Hours: 32hrs across a 4-day week (no salary sacrifice)

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Job snapshot:

As Business Development Manager, you will lead on all new business requirements, focusing on building strong relationships with prospects in the education sector to maximise revenue growth.

You’ll be tasked with building relationships with customers across a number of projects and will enjoy interaction with a diverse range of stakeholders.

As you’ll be joining a newly created team and supporting projects that are in their infancy, we're looking for someone who enjoys exploring new ways of working with a proactive approach to support the division's growth plans.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop growth strategy alongside the executive team tailored towards Wonde’s customers
  • Business partner with internal key stakeholders to develop, agree and implement business initiatives
  • Develop and define sales strategy to achieve business objectives
  • Create, prepare and deliver reports on the status of new business opportunities
  • Identify all relevant new business opportunities
  • Build, manage and nurture the sales pipeline
  • Research and network with desired organisations and individuals to maximise new opportunities
  • Research and adapt sales strategies to mirror market trends
  • Plan persuasive sales approaches and pitches to secure buy-in
  • Pitch and present in a consultative professional manner to qualified leads
  • Execute ‘out of the box’ sales plays
  • Develop and implement new sales models to drive desired growth
  • Provide competitor and market insights and analysis to embed correct drive and direction
  • Collaborate with wider teams to further define and expand the scope of existing opportunities

Requirements

What we’re hoping you’ll bring:

  • Proven track record in a business development-focused role
  • Previous experience supporting the sales cycle from start to finish
  • The ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, ensuring maximum revenue growth with all and each personality type
  • Ambition and initiative to drive change in a fast-moving sector
  • Natural in identifying and approaching new ideas
  • Ability to prioritise workflow and ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to influence and learn in an ever-changing environment
  • Strong 'can do’ mentality
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Good attitude towards individual and team success
